Something for your guests to do on Friday afternoon
Guests flew in on Thursday. Rehearsal isn't until 6pm Friday. A 90-minute scavenger hunt fills the gap and gets them meeting each other before the wedding. No app, no facilitator, one link to share.
Three steps to a better wedding weekend
Set it up once. Share the link. Done.
Pick or build a hunt
Browse hunts in your wedding city, or use GaiaGuide to build one themed around you two: how you met, your first date spot, inside jokes.
Send it in the welcome email
Include the link in your Thursday welcome email or on the wedding website. Guests open it when they have a free window.
Guests play on their own time
They form teams from whoever's around. The hunt runs itself. You focus on the wedding, they get a story to tell you at dinner.
For every gap in the weekend
Thursday arrivals, Friday afternoon, Sunday brunch.
Welcome day
Thursday arrivals with nothing on the agenda. A hunt fills the afternoon and breaks the ice before the rehearsal dinner.
Rehearsal window
Guests are in town but the rehearsal isn't until evening. A mid-afternoon hunt turns dead time into a highlight.
Post-wedding Sunday
The couple is exhausted, guests don't want to leave yet. A Sunday morning hunt wraps the weekend without you needing to host.
Destination wedding
You booked a villa in Puglia. There's nothing for guests to do during the day. A hunt gives them a reason to explore the town together.
Bridal party activity
Bridesmaids and groomsmen arriving early need something low-stakes to bond over. A City Guide hunt does that without pressure.
Kids at the wedding
Kids coming too? A family-friendly hunt runs alongside the adult schedule and keeps them engaged.
Make it about you two
Tell GaiaGuide where you're getting married, how you met, and what you want guests to take away. It builds a route with checkpoints from your story: first date places, inside jokes, the bar where you got engaged.
Getting married in Lucca in September. 60 guests arriving Thursday-Friday. Want a 90-minute hunt for Friday afternoon, themed around how we met (at a bookshop in Rome).
Built a route through Lucca's old town with 7 checkpoints. One is at a local bookshop that matches your Rome one (photo mission: recreate how you met). Another ends at the café your mother-in-law recommended.
Route walks 2.1km, all pedestrian. Ending at the piazza where your Friday welcome drinks are. Want me to add a group toast checkpoint?

Every team's photos land in one gallery. You get the full album by Sunday.
Questions couples ask
How much work is this for us, as the couple?
Building a custom hunt takes about 20 minutes with GaiaGuide. After that, zero work. You send one link in your welcome email. Guests do the rest.
Can this replace a planned Friday activity?
Yes, or supplement one. Some couples use it as the main activity. Others run it during a free window in a busier schedule. Both work.
What about guests who don't speak English?
Hunts are available in English, Spanish, French, and Italian. Each guest picks their language when they start.
Do guests need to sign up for anything?
No. They open the link, pick a name, join a team. That's it. No accounts, no app.
Can elderly guests participate?
City Guide hunts have no timer and a slower walking pace. Grandparents can play comfortably. There's also an optional map toggle for anyone who wants to skip the puzzle-solving and just follow the route.
What does it cost?
Public hunts are free. Custom story-themed hunts with GaiaGuide are free during beta. Most couples pay nothing. If you want a bespoke branded experience beyond what GaiaGuide generates, get in touch.
What couples and planners say
From weddings run recently.
We got married in Puglia and most guests arrived two days early. The hunt we built with GaiaGuide was the highlight Friday afternoon. Half our bridesmaids said they want to do it at their weddings.
Wedding planner here. I've started suggesting this to clients with destination weddings. It fills the awkward Friday afternoon gap and costs the couple basically nothing.
My mum told me afterwards that she finally met Tom's uncle during the hunt. They ended up seated next to each other at dinner and hit it off. I don't think that conversation would have happened otherwise.
