Date nights you'll both still talk about
Skip the usual dinner spot. You and your partner walk the city, solve clues together, and find corners neither of you knew were there. One link opens on both phones. No app, no planning.
Three steps and you're out the door
No app. No signup needed to play.
Pick a hunt
Browse free public hunts in your city, or use GaiaGuide to build a custom route. The AI version takes about ten minutes.
Open the link
Both of you tap the same link on your phones. A team forms in two seconds. Everything runs in the browser.
Walk and solve
Riddles unlock as you reach each spot. Photo missions and hidden details along the way. You walk at whatever pace works.
Fits most kinds of dates
Different night, different reason.
Date night
A weeknight you'd otherwise forget. Two hours in the city and one story to tell at brunch afterwards.
Anniversaries
Make it count without booking dinner six months out. Build a custom route through the places that matter to you both.
Weekend trips
You flew somewhere new. Don't spend the first afternoon arguing with Google Maps. Pick a hunt and start walking.
First dates
Side by side works when face to face feels like an interview. Walking and solving things skips most of the small talk.
Long-distance reunions
You finally have a weekend together. Spend it doing something instead of deciding what to do.
Out of ideas
If 'what do you want to do?' has happened three Saturdays in a row, this is the answer.
Make it personal in about ten minutes
Tell GaiaGuide what you're celebrating and where you are. It builds a walking route with clues and picks an ending you can change. Review it together, launch when you're ready.
Our 5-year anniversary is Saturday. We live in Brussels. Want a romantic 90-minute hunt around the Sablon, ending somewhere we can have wine.
Mapped a route through Place du Grand Sablon and the Petit Sablon gardens. Six checkpoints: a hidden chapel, two antique shops you've probably walked past, a viewpoint over the rooftops.
Ending at a small wine bar near Notre-Dame du Sablon. Want me to add a photo mission halfway?
What it looks like
Built for two people walking together.
Clue reveal
Each riddle unlocks the next stop. You solve them together.
Photo missions
Capture the moment at each checkpoint. You'll have the whole gallery after.
Story finale
The hunt ends somewhere specific to the two of you. Usually a wine bar or a viewpoint.
Questions you probably have
Isn't this kind of cheesy?
Only if you make it cheesy. Most hunts read like a walking tour with puzzles. Pick a moody historical theme or something lighter. Tone is your call.
What if we don't want to compete?
Most date-night hunts have no leaderboard and no timer. You walk at your own pace and can skip a checkpoint if you want.
Is this good for a first date?
It's one of the better first-date formats around. You're doing something side by side instead of staring across a table. The clues give you something to talk about that isn't 'so what do you do?'
How much walking is involved?
Most hunts cover 1.5 to 3km over 60 to 90 minutes. Comfortable shoes and that's it. You can pause whenever. Sit on a bench, get a drink, take a detour.
What if it rains?
Many hunts route through covered streets and arcades. Light rain rarely matters. For a downpour, save the hunt and come back another day. Your progress sticks.
Does it cost anything?
Public hunts are free to play. Custom hunts built with GaiaGuide are free during beta. No card, no commitment.
What couples say
From couples who've played, in their own words.
We did the Trastevere hunt for our second anniversary. Found a fountain we'd walked past a hundred times and never noticed. Best night we've had in Rome.
I'm not the planner in our relationship and my partner usually does everything. Sent him one link, he opened it, and for two hours we figured stuff out together. Felt different.
Used GaiaGuide to build something for our first weekend in Barcelona. The AI suggested a route I never would have thought of. Ended at a sunset rooftop. Locked in.
